If you love puns and other plays-on-words, this one’s for you! 🙂
Hmm, I wonder what the title could be telling me about this film? Well, first of all there’s the picture of the duck and the actual word in the title.. I can also see that it’s a play on the word “abducted”.. It must be a movie about a duck getting abducted!
In my English class, we’ve just started reading A Tale Of Two Cities by Charles Dickens, and already, we’ve done so much analyzing. It’s amazing! We spent a whole period and a half (each period is 55 minutes long) on dissecting just the first paragraph alone! Reading and writing is so much more than just the presented layer of information. Writers incorporate so much into their writing. There’s irony, metaphors, allusions, and so much more in literature! Even the random capitalization of letters and punctuation are important. For example, a woman knitting. What do you associate with knitting? I thought of a creepy old woman in a rocking chair. When my teacher called on other students for their thoughts, one boy in my class suggested the Fates and the Furies. DING DING DING! We have a winner! I immediately connected the idea, and realized (well I realize this every day in my English class) that literature is very complicated. 🙂
It’s a peaceful day, and all is calm. A butterfly flutters past a lone duck, and birds can be heard chirping. Suddenly, in a tall bush, another duck quacks, breaking the serenity and tranquility of the day. Intrigued, the duck swims over to investigate the cry. As it nears the scrub, a shotgun is abruptly pulled out and the handler of the weapon cocks it — and shoots the duck. Peculiarly, the bullet is reflected off the duck, which is possibly made of metal. Astonished that it did not die, the hunter who shot the duck pops out of the bush and fires again. Still, the duck does not wither. Suddenly, the man struggles with an unseen predator in the bush — they’re ducks! The two partners-in-crime bound the man with rope, and the original duck is revealed to be a disguised submarine. The two ducks then abDUCKt the hunter and all is normal once again.
I think the plot twist in this story was genius. Didn’t you? The idea was very original and creative. The artwork was also really lovely. It was so cool how the animation looked like it was just watercolor on a piece of textured paper. It surely took much more work and time than just that, though!
